Me in a nutshell
My name is Gillian but I go by Gillie most of the time. I’m a 19 year old girl. Originally born in New York to a Trini/Chinese mother and a Jamaican/Chinese father. I have one older brother whom I love dearly. I currently live in South Florida but have plans to move back to NY in the future. I’m an aspiring artist with a lot of knowledge to be gained.

My hobbies
If I’m not at school then I’m usually on the computer making art or surfing some sites. I love to read. I’m a big Mary Jane Clark and Mary Higgins Clark fan. I also enjoy books from Eric Jerome Dickey and Dan Brown. Besides the reading and the computer stuff, my ultimate passion is fine art. I’ve been drawing since I could hold a pencil and art runs in my family. I’m better at drawing people but I’m practicing on drawing animals, too. I can also paint with acrylic and water color and I’m good with pastells and charcoal.

My personality
People say I’m a very happy person. I’m constantly smiling. I just can’t help it. I have a bubbly personality. I care about damn near everyone. I hate hurting peoples feelings/seeing other people get hurt. I try my best to help all of my friends out with their problems. In that lies one of my greatest faults. I care too much for others and sometimes neglect my own needs. But really in the end it doesn’t matter to me because seeing other people happy makes me happy. My friends say I’m very intelligent and genuine. They also say I’m silly (Silly Gillie) and can be extremely stupid. lol I do like to act like a fool and most of the time I don’t give a $%#^ if anyone is watching. If I’m doing something that’s silly but is making me happy then who cares what others think. =P

The School
I go to the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. I’m in my second year now going for my bachelors in Interactive Media Deisgn. I love the atmosphere there. There is nothing quite like being in a building full of people who appreciate art just as much as you. I’ve also made quite a few friends there. They’re mainly Animation and Game Art students that are obsessed ::cough cough:: with comics. Which led to me joing the Comic Book Club at my school. I was Chair of the Web Design department but I guess you could say I’m taking a hiatus from the club for a while. I didn’t get the same vibe I use to anymore. But I am very interested in working with a comic book company my friends want to start called K.A.M.P. (Kick Ass Monkey Press). I’ve also been on the Dean’s List since I’ve started school.

The Family/Friends
My family is very dear to me. They are my rock (as cliche as that sounds). I’m not sure what I would be without them. Maybe a shell of who I am today. If you’ve ever wondered why I am so damn silly, it’s definitely because of them lol. I mean that in the nicest way possible, though. They encourage me and make me believe in myself. BTW I’m talking about my moms side of the family lol. I’m not too close to my fathers side. And like my family, my close friends are very dear to me. They make me laugh and they help me with my problems and I help them with theirs. I couldn’t have asked for a better family nor could I have asked for better friends.
